The Mahdi virus is believed to have been developed for industrial espionage in the Middle East region. Eight hundred cases of the virus have been reported in Iran.
With this Mahdi virus, hackers can copy e-mails, create screenshots and detect the sequence of keys pressed on the keyboard. Additionally, audio recordings can be heard on the computer. The virus is transmitted in the form of email attachments.
Some time ago experts from the Russian company "Kaspersky Laboratory", antivirus software maker, called the "Flame" virus. Was used for spying in the Middle East region for the past five years.
